If you are hearing it for the first time, you may want to get enough gyan on the whats of a bedbug. Whether or not you have heard of this blood sucker, you surely would have been a suckee more than many times in your life. It is believed that more than 1/2 the households in India have bed bugs in their residence. The problem with these parasites is that they are extremely smart.
1) They suck your blood by injecting anesthesia, which practically means you will feel nothing at all!
2) They also induce an anti-coagulant (now thats a technical term), which is something that will not result in clotting of blood. There wouldn't be any swelling on your skin. Implication==> you can't recognize that you are being bitten.
3) They know your movements very well, and they are swift as cats. Before you realize, there is a bed bug on your elbow, it would have reached your neck then your pants and then it will quickly get back to its pavilion (just like how Rajini fights in Enthiran at the speed of light. vroom vroom dishum dishum.)
Though I do not have them in my apartment, my friends @ IISCwere complaining that they seem to have housed a few of these bed bugs on their bed (they weren't sure). They were suspicious that they had bed bugs on their cot/bed.
I conducted the following operation:
Bed bugs are known to hide in the corners of the bed, so cleverly, that it is practically impossible for us to find them.
I managed to dig some holes in the beds of my friend's apartment and plaster them in such a way that they form nice bungalows for our bed bugs to hide, I made these cavities and corners in such a way that a bedbug should prefer them over natural corners of the bed. One day passed and there came the second day morning.... and ..... taaadaaa.... we found the bed bug in our customized-bed-bug-resorts :-) personally made by me for them. Trapped!!!!!!! *Evil-smile*
Well now, to talk business! Can this idea be sold (of course for a price) to the proprietor of the Curlon mattresses ? I seriously think every bed should be manufactured with these cavities (on purpose), so that it is easy for the user to detect the bed bugs (in case they existed).
For the first time I felt I had a good Engineer in me.... but wait!!!!!! what did I engineer here????? A smart way to trap bed bugsssssss???? ................... Real engineering would be to design a trap which would help the Bachelors of IISc to end their bachelorship ;-) *wink*
